We planned to spend two nights in Cody WY, which worked in our favor due to the weather. We arrived in some off and on light rain on Friday. Did many of the things on our “check list” on Friday afternoon / night.
Woke up on Saturday to low 40 temps, driving winds and heavy rains. The East and Jackson Park Entrances were closed a few times (separately) during the day due to snow. This morning we have awoke to a clearer sky and anticipation of a sunny day in the mid-50s. We will delay our start a bit to watch the Park Entrance status board (we can see this from the hotel). We are optimistic that we will be back on the road and trip plan today as we enter the park via the East Entrance and head south to Jackson Hole.

I first came upon this building early in the morning. The building is vacant as was the entire town in the early morning hours. Stopping to take a photo, seemed a bit eerie. The following day, I returned about mid-day and did stop for a couple of photos. Read a posting on the door and later a bit on the web (see link below)
Montana’s Big Sky
What is striking with any large body of water that you come upon here in Montana, is its blue color. The vastness of this countryside with its “big sky” gives a blue reflection (of the sky) that I have never seen before. This photos do not do it justice, but they are nonetheless a good reflection of it 😉
