Yellowstone Motorcycle Run – Day 11 Grand Teton

Later that night…… we met joined several other “tourists” and departed from the Jackson Hole base lift lodge in open air Jeeps!    What started as a cool summer night would turn into a chilly ride in the open Jeeps.   However, the back roads were filled with scenery, waterways and historic buildings.     The upside was that the other “tourists” weren’t the over engaging friendlies, so the people part was tolerable!!

Yellowstone Motorcycle Run – Day 11 Jackson Hole

We arrived at Jackson Hole, WY early in the afternoon.      We had a sunset Jeep Tour that evening,  little did we know that the temperature would soon drop 30 degrees at the base of the Grand Teton.    But that is a future video.      We had a few hours to explore the Jackson Hole Village.    We opted to take the Tram to the Waffle House.    Up we went – the views up the tram as well the top was outstanding.    This video is primarily still photos with a shorter mix of Go PRO videos.

Yellowstone Motorcycle Run – Day 10 Cody to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons

Arrived in Cody WY on Day 8.   Drizzle from Chief Joseph Scenic Byway turned to steady rain with dropping temperatures.    Those conditions turned soon to mixed snow!    From our hotel you could see the Cody Rodeo arena and the entrance sign to East Yellowstone.    Both would be significant in a few hours.     Some hours later the rodeo was canceled due to the snow / wetted conditions     The sign now stated that park entrance was CLOSED.     We were hopeful by morning that the weather would pass.   Morning came and the weather continued.   We settled in for another day / night.    The next day (Day 10) the weather broke, the sign returned to OPEN and we ventured on toward to the Grand Tetons.    Along the way we would see why the park was closed.

Yellowstone Motorcycle Run – Day 8 Chief Joseph Scenic Byway

Cheryl arrived the day before (Day 7) we stayed in Billings MT that night.    We left billings headed for Cody WY.    Weather was sunny in the morning however turned overcast soon after we got on the road..     We did not know what was in store for us for weather in Cody – we would soon find out.      A highlight that we had along the way to Cody WY was “Chief Joseph Scenic Byway”.    When we arrived, it had turned much cooler and it was drizzling on and off.     This would be the first of many magnificent roads and views that we would experience @ RHG 2019 – Yellowstone Run!!

Yellowstone Motorcycle Run – Day 6 Kings Highway MT

After getting “near” Glacier National Park,  it was time to turn back to meeting Cheryl the next day at Billings MT.   Found a great route and headed south to King’s Highway and then on to Great Falls MT for the night.   In the end,  it was an great ride regardless.    Glacier National Park remains on the “must see” list ….. perhaps  RHG 2020 Run?

Yellowstone Motorcycle Run – Day 5 MT Rt 191 North

Got to Billings MT a day early.   Thought I’d do some exploring.    Deciding to take a ride north toward Glacier National Park via MT Rt 191.     Got within a few miles of Glacier to find out the park was closed due to a snow avalanche.    This would not be the fist snow we would venture into during this trip in June!   Needless to say,   I was soon to turn back and head south.   The next video we will post (Day 6) is the return trip to Billings MT.
